Includes details of Battles at Shiloh, Nashville; descriptions and sketch of Fort Henry; life at Camp Butler and Corinth, Mississippi; and the Mobile Campaign, 1864, including battles at Spanish Fort and Blakely, Alabama. July 10, 1863 letter mentions plot to assassinate Illinois governor Richard Yates.
